it has always been my conscience to never to hurt people emotionally. but i found out that silent treatment is the best way to drive people crazy. i was doing it to this 'someone' out of my own belief. in Islam, the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) once said 'If one of you sees something evil he should change it with his hand. If he cannot, he should speak out against it, and if he cannot do even that he should at least " detest " it in his heart, this being the weakest form of faith'. i tried talking to this 'someone'. it's not that i didn't try.
